I wore these for the first time today.
It was a bit chilly, but sunny all the same and it’s definitely spring.
There is a lot of work waiting in the garden. My poor strawberry patch is completely overgrown. I didn’t touch it last year, everything was contaminated with ash and it was hard for me to be outside. But now I’m going to try to restore it.
The rose hedge is also very neglected and need a stern pruning, and the rhubarb patch need a once over too. I didn’t do it all today, but the rose hedge is looking pretty good now if I may say so myself.
The day was not all hard work though. The senior citizens home had an open house today, where they invited the villagers for coffee and waffles and sold their crafts. I attended, as I always do and had a lovely time.
I bought four pairs of mittens (one for me, three for my little darling), an embroidered dolls apron, a small dolls tablecloth and the shawl I’m wearing in the photos below. The prices were almost embarrassingly low. All proceedings go to buying craft supplies and related equipment.
The shawl is nice and warm but I’m going to give it away, brown does not suit be, but I was a bit cold so I put it to good use.
Hot Paraffin Wax Hand Treatment
This year there was a special treat, for a minimal fee you could try hot paraffin wax hand treatment. I did, and it was great I can tell you. The heat was very soothing and comfortable and my hand are very soft after the treatment. It’s also a mild pain relief and it works, although I’m not sure how long it will last. The vax pot is bought for the proceeding of the craft sale. Some of the ladies knit almost 24/7 so their hands need a treat now and then.

Mér finnst þetta mjög fallegt sjal og fara þér vel. Brúnt fer þér alls ekki illa.
