Free neck warmer PATTERN

The free Baby Neck Warmer pattern can easily be adapted to make bigger neck warmers. This one is for a full grown gentleman with a rather wide neck. I cast on 66 sts with 3mm needles, for each “flap” , increased 1 st in each side, as stated in the pattern so there are 66+66+2+2 = 136 sts in the collar itself.

A crochet cardigan

A very nice woman gave me this, many years ago:  The back and one front piece were finished, and the second one was about 1/3 done. There is not pattern to follow. I’m going to finish this now. The second front piece is almost done, it’s very quick work and it is easy to follow the shape of the first one. The crochet pattern is pretty, but a bit to sweet for me, for a whole sweater. I’m thinking about combining knitting and crochet.  Ribbed sleeves, pockets, and collar – if I have enough yarn that is. I have no idea what brand of yarn this is. It feels like wool and it’s not very soft.

Perhaps the combination will be hideous, what do you think?

Lace

I’m crocheting a long string of lace (2,3m/2,52yd) for the blue hat. It’s not fast work, the yarn is very fine and the hook is a 0.6mm one. But it’s rather pretty, in my eyes at least.

The hat is going to have sea waves on it some delicate little fish too.  Perhaps a bird or two in the “air” I haven’t decided that yet.

Bookmarks

The bookmarks turned out all right. Not very stiff, but just starched enough to hold the form well.
One of them is going into the mail today, as a little “thank you” gift, the other is going to the first installation in my gift closet.

I have been planning to start one of those for years – but this year I’m going to do it!

6 more months?

When a favorite pink t-shirt, (with a long enough torso) is getting way to short in the sleeves, this is one way to prolong it’s life somewhat.

I’m hoping for six months, but perhaps that is a bit optimistic. But it should last at least three more, right?
You can just as well use store bought lace for this kind of extensions, ribbons are very nice too.

Þegar uppáhalds bolurinn er orðinn of ermastuttur er hægt að framlengja líf hans svona. Ég vona að framlengingin endist í sex mánuði, en það er sennilega full mikil bjartsýni, þrír eru kannski nær lagi.

Búðarblúnda virkar alveg eins vel og handgerð í svona framlengingar og allskonar borðar líka. Það er samt betra að athuga vel að þeir láti ekki lit, áður en þeir eru saumaðir á,
