My regular readers will perhaps remember my summer sewing list? No?
Anyway, yesterday I could cross the first item of the list – a very simple summer dress for the little one.
(worn the Icelandic way, with warm leggings and a long sleeved top). You can almost never wear a dress like this here with out at least a t-shirt underneath. But I think it’s cute this way too.
It took me exactly an hour and twenty minutes to finish, from the first measurement, to the last stitch. And that is with a lot of help for the little one. She worked the foot control for the top and bottom hem (standing in from of my chair) and she was quite good and holding an even speed I must say.
She also chose the material herself. She has these four to choose from:
and although she is very partial to pink, she picked the white one with the pink and blue flowers.
She liked them all, and told me that she could use more dresses, and I could make her more, if I wanted too.
That one has been in my possession for decades. I seem to remember that my mother bought it originally, but I’m not sure.

I added was a little lace at the hem.

Svona er minnið orðið – ég var alveg til með að trúa þessu með náttkjólana
Flottur og einfaldur kjóll. Þið systur áttuð ekki neitt úr þessu efni. Ég keyfti þetta á sínum tíma í náttkjól á mig.
Það líst mér vel á Tinna! Um að gera að byrja bara, það er nóg til af einföldum sniðum, bæði á netinu og í blöðum.

Ég kannast við þetta efni og held að það hafi án efa verið í eigu mútter. Getur verið að við höfum átt kjóla eða náttkjóla úr þessu efni?

Ég fékk nýlega saumaleiðbeiningabók og ætla mér stærri hluti en einfaldar saumsprettuviðgerðir þegar ég fer aftur út í haust, þar sem saumavélin mín fína bíður.
Það er raunar Gylfi sem hefur verið afkastamestur í saumaskapnum, hann hefur stytt gardínur og saumað poka og hulsur utan um myndavélar, tónsarpa og kyndla.
Ég hef aðallega einbeitt mér að því að finna falleg efni hjá Myrorna eða Stadsmissionen og geymi þau þangað til ég kann að sauma almennilega úr þeim.
