Let it Snow

We have a White Christmas in Reykjavík.

A little late perhaps, the snow came last night, but it is still Christmas so a white Christmas it is. But the thin layer of snow here is nothing compared to the West fjords:

You can see a live feed from the centre of Ísafjörður here, if you are interested.

Here in Reykjavík, the children love playing in the snow and the make use of the smallest of “slopes”.

I like the snow too. I don’t ski or anything like that, but the snow is pretty, especially in moderation and that is just what I have right now.

  1. I forwarded this to my in-laws. My mother-in-law is nostalgic about Isafjordur. She’ll love to see the snowy pictures. As a child, she remembers more snow than recenlty and she would take a kick-sled to school with her friends.

If we don’t get snow here, it’s a loooong and booooring winter. There is nothing to do but sit inside and look out the windows. It’s so bitterly cold. Today it popped up to -5 C and the sun was bright. Beautiful!

This time last year I was in Reykjavík and we had a lot of snow in one night, now I am in the west fjörds and we have sooooo much snow, I could not walk outside, I just kept falling!
