Today is “the first day of summer” in Iceland.
Let me be clear though, it not real summer, it’s just a very old tradition, we still have spring and barely that in some parts of the country.
I decorated my home in preparation for easter today. I don’t remember ever having bought easter decorations. Perhaps a flower or two, but I do have some things my kids have made over the years and some small doilies from my mother in law too that I treasure and bring out every year.
