The benefits of cod liver oil
This is what my family has for breakfast every day now. There is also bread, cereal etc. , but these two things are staples.
Firstly, a big spoonful of lýsi, (Icelandic cod liver oil). Sure it tastes bad. My daughter doesn’t mind it at all but the rest of us find it pretty disgusting frankly. But it has so many benefits that we close our eyes and swallow it anyway. My joints don’t hurt nearly as much when I get my daily dose, and my husbands dry and cracked hands heal in a matter of days.*
The daily smoothie is delicious however. I like to make it with almond milk, but I use rice milk or even oat or soy if it’s not available.
I always have something frozen in it. This morning it was blueberries.
Most days there is a banana in the mix too, but the other fruits vary. I find that a little bit of freshly grated ginger “lifts” the flavor and makes it a bit more interesting so I often put that in too.
My new haircut
I have a new(ish) haircut. What do you think?
And a Rock Picture to finish:
* This is not an advertisement. I genuinely like lýsi (well sort of) and I never post sponsored content.

Your new(ish) haircut looks good on you. You can carry a short cut with style! I love the photos of the rock. I looked Vik up on Google map and got close enough to see the buildings in your village, but the rocks did not show up too well so I love the photos you post.
Sending warm regards, =^.^= MaryGail
yeah we take lýsi too – I in tablet form though. The rest of the family recently switched to Ufsalýsi, you don’t have to take as big a dose…
Love the hairdo
Good haircut – suits you and nice for the summer, too. And – as usual – great rock picture, nice to see more than just the rock
). My husband and I went on a lovely beach walk today… I really love the coast! As for cod liver oil – it reminds me of horrors of early childhood and I am as yet to find good capsules of it rather than liquid….
I should have such a breakfast, too……
Like your new hairdo; would love to have short hair again, too.
But don’t like to visit the hairdresser……….
