I am just back from a week in wonderful Barcelona with this great choir. Here the girls are singing in the world famous Montserrat church in front of thousands of churchgoers and visitors. They were very well received, both inside the church and outside, where they were literally surrounded by enthusiastic fans.

I have been making dishcloths lately. This sea green one was a very economical one skein project, with nearly nothing left over. Some people don’t see the point of hand made dishcloths, but I like them. I find them pretty and I like to clean my tabletops with something pretty and reusable. They are also very portable projects, I like to crochet them one the bus.

Here are some I have made in the past, mostly for gifts.

It’s nice and long, almost a sweater dress, just as the young lady wanted.

The hood is big a roomy and the yarn is soft and warm, even though it’s – brace yourselves – 100% acrylic. Which is almost a mortal sin in some knitter eyes, but I don’t mind that at all. This was a gift, which I am very thankful for let me tell you and the yarn (Carolina by Marks & Kattens) is lovely.

This is not exactly craft related – but it’s adorable.

But I soldier on. I very much want to start a lacy lopi sweater for my older daughter, perhaps this one, and then I need to start knitting a baby layette very soon, there is a baby due in my family this summer and I want to make something very pretty.

But I’m NOT going to start anything before this one is done! So I better finish soon…

There were a lot of beautiful clothes this year. This lovely and unusual dandelion print silk blouse caught my eye. It’s by Ásdís Loftsdóttir and the label is Black Sand.

These charming carved birds are by Hafþór Ragnar Þórhallsson, in Gallerí Götuhús in Eyrarbakki.

Tatting has enjoyed a revival lately, here in Iceland. This tatting jewelry is by Þorgerður Kjartansdóttir.

These cups are from the west fjords. They are by Ólöf Björk Oddsdóttir in Suðureyri.
